About SYPAQ Systems
Founded in Victoria in 1992, SYPAQ is a diversified engineering and systems-integration company serving defence, government and enterprise customers. Its wider work spans C5 systems, airborne sensing, cyber, software and advanced manufacturing, so the autonomous-systems portfolio is one operating line within a broader technology group.
The Corvo programme brings aircraft design, payload integration, flight testing and sustainment together in Australia. Corvo X entered Australian Army service through DEF129 with a multi-year support programme, while Corvo Strike extends the family into counter-UAS interception. SYPAQ also integrates third-party sensing, including Teledyne FLIR thermal imaging, into mission-specific payloads.

- 2026-10-05 - Production Milestone - Hydrix delivers benchtop counter-UAS payload prototype to NIOA
The work supports the SYPAQ CORVO interceptor programme under ASCA Mission SYRACUSE. Hydrix’s Power & Interface Controller handles telemetry, payload interfaces, safety interlocks and fuzing logic. The delivered platform supports early software and subsystem integration; flight-test hardware is the next development phase.

The delivery includes a multi-year sustainment programme covering spares, maintenance, training and operational support. Corvo X uses a thrust-vectoring VTOL configuration with encrypted mesh networking, configurable payloads and advanced autonomy. SYPAQ designs, engineers and manufactures the lightweight, man-packable aircraft in Australia.

NIOA will deliver and integrate an inert proximity fuze and kinetic effector payload package. The work supports SYPAQ Corvo Strike under the ASCA Mission Syracuse counter-drone effort. The announcement positioned the collaboration as a sovereign Australian counter-UAS capability push.

Corvo Guarda 70-DN incorporates a Boson 640 thermal camera for day-and-night imaging. The payload is interchangeable within Corvo X’s configurable mission architecture. The integration supports surveillance use while preserving the aircraft’s man-packable VTOL configuration.
