About JVL
JVL's MAC motor architecture puts the encoder, controller, driver and programmable logic inside the motor housing, reducing cabinet space and external cabling. Plug-in expansion modules adapt communication and connector options without changing the base motor.
MacTalk configures, monitors and diagnoses the MAC, ServoStep and QuickStep families and can run ePLC programs locally in the motor. Supported industrial networks include Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Sercos, Powerlink, EtherCAT and Modbus TCP/UDP, with protocol changes available through firmware. The range extends from integrated servo and stepper motors to standalone drives and application-specific motion controls.

- 2025-11-03 - Product Launch - JVL launches MAC1403 1.5 kW DC servo motor
JVL listed the MAC1403 release on November 3, 2025. The 1,500-watt unit integrates the motor, encoder, drive electronics, embedded PLC and configurable I/O. Optional industrial Ethernet, CANopen and SIL3 safe-torque-off support compact distributed motion systems.

The separated motor, encoder and controller layout targets installations where heat, space or system architecture prevent use of an integrated motor. JVL positions the system for robotics, pick-and-place equipment and other precision machine axes. The architecture retains closed-loop positioning while allowing the controller and motor to be placed independently.

JVL listed the MAC1004 release on March 14, 2025. The motor delivers 1,000 watts continuously and up to 3,000 watts peak with an embedded controller and multi-turn encoder. Industrial Ethernet, daisy-chain networking and continuous-duty operation target conveyors, robotics and warehouse machinery.

JVL listed the product release on April 16, 2024. The NEMA 17 and NEMA 23 actuator integrates the ball screw into the motor shaft and delivers up to 2,200 newtons peak force. Integrated control, encoder, networking and safety options reduce external components, assembly work and cabinet space.

JVL listed the MAC320 launch on April 5, 2023. The motor fills the gap above the MAC141 with higher continuous and peak power in a compact integrated package. Its controller, encoder and industrial-network options reduce cabinet hardware and simplify machine integration.
Source - 2020-04-03 - Commercial Order - JVL selected for 1,000 respirator motors
JVL disclosed the order on April 3, 2020. The company was selected to supply 1,000 ServoStep motors for respirators built by Lærdal Medical and Servi Group. JVL began immediate production in Denmark to support the Norwegian health authorities during the COVID-19 emergency.
