About Midea Group
Midea’s robotics business is built around KUKA’s industrial arms, cobots, mobile platforms, controllers and automation systems. Swisslog and other group businesses extend the portfolio into automated storage, warehouse transport and software-controlled material flow.
Midea also deploys KUKA robots and AI-enabled systems inside its own appliance factories, using its manufacturing operations as a large automation environment. The group’s robotics position therefore covers robot production, complete factory solutions, logistics automation and direct industrial adoption.

The joint integrates a torque sensor, frameless motor, harmonic reducer and controller, with supplier-stated 100Hz force-control bandwidth. The reducer range includes MC for light industrial robots and MCH for humanoid applications. Welling states annual delivery capacity of 200,000 reducers, 60,000 joint modules and 210,000 servo motors.

Midea’s cash offer was EUR 115 per KUKA share. The bidder’s holding reached 94.55% after the offer and was recorded at that level from January 6, 2017. Final conditions included antitrust, foreign-economic and U.S. security approvals completed by the end of December 2016.
