DEEP Robotics X30 begins pilot inspection in SP Group cable tunnel

Mar 4, 2025 · Deployment · Deep Robotics · Industrial

An X30 quadruped adapted as “SPock” entered operational pilot use in SP Group’s underground power-transmission network in Singapore.

The pilot places an exact X30 configuration inside an overseas power-grid tunnel and quantifies the intended labour saving, rather than relying on a generic inspection capability claim.

  • SPock was patrolling sections of a 40-kilometre cable tunnel and screening for cracks, water seepage and other anomalies.
  • DEEP Robotics customized the robot’s sensors, algorithms and navigation logic for Singapore’s tunnel layout.
  • SP Group planned wider use after the pilot, with an expected saving of 480 manual inspection hours per year.

Develops legged robotic systems including quadrupeds and humanoids, with a focus on operation in complex, real-world environments such as industrial inspection, infrastructure, and hazardous terrain. The company has built a strong foundation in dynamic locomotion and environmental robustness, transitioning from deployed quadruped systems into industrial humanoid platforms.
