About Panda Surgical
Panda Surgical is developing a handheld robotic platform for minimally invasive brain and spine surgery. Exchangeable wristed instruments as small as three millimetres are intended to give neurosurgeons greater dexterity through narrow endoscopic corridors while retaining the familiar handling and direct control of a surgical tool.
The UCL spinout is also developing AI assistance for anatomy segmentation, surgical-phase recognition and intraoperative decision support. Its programme has progressed through an in-vivo preclinical study and is preparing for a first-in-human investigation with UCL and UCL Hospitals. Panda achieved ISO 13485 certification in 2026, but the system remains investigational and is not approved or available for sale.
