SAIC Mobility begins robotaxi operations with RoboSense lidar suite
SAIC Mobility began operating its robotaxi project in Shanghai with a RoboSense perception suite comprising one RS-Ruby and two RS-Helios lidars per vehicle.

Evidence notes
- The project placed its first 20 robotaxis into operation in Jiading on December 8, 2021.
- SAIC Motor's AI Laboratory and Momenta provided the integrated autonomous-driving hardware and software solution.
- RoboSense supplied the 128-beam main lidar and two 32-beam blind-spot lidars used to create all-around 3D coverage.
